Grand Hotel Zermatterhof

The Grand Hotel Zermatterhof first opened its doors in 1879 in order to welcome mountain climbers and nature lovers. It was only in 1927 that the hotel remained open during the winter season. It is located on the central square, next to the main church.

Through the years this establishment has retained its grand atmosphere and opulent elegance. The decor is both classical and luxurious and the service is as one would expect from a top 5* hotel in Switzerland: excellent.

The rooms are decorated in warm welcoming colors and are all large and comfortable. You can have a relaxing drink in the hotel’s lounge and enjoy an excellent dinner in one of the two restaurants: The Luisi which offers a younger and more relaxed atmosphere or the Prato Borina which serves wonderful gourmet delicacies.

The highlight of the Zermatterhof however is the Spa area which is possible the best in Zermatt. Here you can enjoy the large swimming pool and a multitude of saunas, hamams as well as an ice grotto (cooled to 2 degrees) and a relaxation area. There are numerous beauty treatments to choose from, though it is best to book them well in advance!
