Vail

In the 1950s the entrepreneur Pete Siebert created Vail and he wanted this resort to look just like a traditional Tyrolean village. This makes for a somewhat surprising effect, at least on European visitors: Turn off the Interstate 70, drive 1 km. and you could be mistaken for being in the heart of Europe. Vail has now become a large resort which spans over 5 km in length, but the heart is without a doubt Vail Village, which is located right next to the ski lifts. This is the charming center of the resort and here you will find the best hotels shops and restaurants.

The ski area is one of the largest in the United States. The largest area is accessible directly from the village and offers excellent skiing and snowboarding for beginners and experts alike; but the lift pass also covers beaver Creek, Beckenridge and Keystone.

As the village is located at 2500m altitude and the mountain goes up all the way to 3500 m. the snow is consistently good and there is usually lots of powder to be found in the Back Bowls.

Vail combines an elegant and lively lifestyle with some very impressive skiing on runs which are always perfectly groomed. It's a winning combination.
